JUNE 11th- BABY GENDER APPOINTMENT!

15 weeks pregnant!
Here is what Baby Wojcik is up to from BabyCenter.com:
Your growing baby now measures about 4 inches long, crown to rump, and weighs in at about 2 1/2 ounces (about the size of an apple). She's busy moving amniotic fluid through her nose and upper respiratory tract, which helps the primitive air sacs in her lungs begin to develop. Her legs are growing longer than her arms now, and she can move all of her joints and limbs. Although her eyelids are still fused shut, she can sense light.  Finally, if you have an ultrasound this week, you may be able to find out whether your baby's a boy or a girl!

This week happens to be our 3rd Wedding Anniversary! It is amazing to think that  three years ago God united us as Husband and Wife. I love knowing that Jesus designed this amazing man to be mine. He is such a good God. I said a prayer this morning for Baby Wojcik. I prayed for (his or her) soul mate. I prayed for the hands of God as He creates the soul mate for our dearest baby. Maybe it is a bit early to be thinking about the union of our unborn child, however, it was on my heart. I pray that our baby will find a love that is as true as our own. Its not perfect, but it is real.

God picked us to be the parents of this baby. I feel so privileged. When Jesus made us in our mothers womb He knew that we would be one, and He knew that this baby would be ours. I feel so humbled that God would see us fit to raise one of His children. Mike is going to be a wonderful father. He is such a great role model and he is an ultra loving man. I can not wait to see him holding our baby in his strong and gentle arms.

Eww! It is peeing inside of me!

Here I am with my sweet Bailey and Cuddly Reed...

14 weeks pregnant!

Well I learned something new! Being pregnant counts as being temporarily disabled. So, I got to be the first person to board the airplane on my trip to FL this past week! I felt very VIP! Jesus showed mercy on me. The weather report called for thunderstorms and winds... but the plane ride was smooth as silk! Thanks to those of you who were praying for my traveling mercies.

These two ladies next to me have touched my life eternally. Kathleen (far left) discipled me through college, continuously pouring into my heart and steering me towards Jesus. Ashley (middle) started praying for my salvation when she met me and invited me to countless bible studies. They cause the angels to smile with their love for Jesus and selfless hearts! Someday we will dance in the streets of heaven together.

The wedding was perfect! Heather was radiant! I enjoyed visiting with my Jacksonville friends.  I also enjoyed spending time with my Nephew Reed and meeting my sweet little Niece Bailey. (Pictures above) Ashley sure knows how to breed some beautiful children! I felt such great comfort being around old friends. I am blessed with such wonderful lasting friendships.

Baby is doing well! Here is the update from BabyCenter.com:
Your baby can now squint, frown, grimace, pee, and possibly suck his thumb! Thanks to brain impulses, his facial muscles are getting a workout as his tiny features form one expression after another. His kidneys are producing urine, which he releases into the amniotic fluid around him — a process he'll keep up until birth. He can grasp, too, and if you're having an ultrasound now, you may even catch him sucking his thumb. In other news: Your baby's stretching out. From head to bottom, he measures 3 1/2 inches — about the size of a lemon — and he weighs 1 1/2 ounces. His body's growing faster than his head, which now sits upon a more distinct neck. By the end of this week, his arms will have grown to a length that's in proportion to the rest of his body. (His legs still have some lengthening to do.) He's starting to develop an ultra-fine, downy covering of hair, called lanugo, all over his body. Your baby's liver starts making bile this week — a sign that it's doing its job right — and his spleen starts helping in the production of red blood cells. Though you can't feel his tiny punches and kicks yet, your little pugilist's hands and feet (which now measure about 1/2 inch long) are more flexible and active.

Second Trimester- Woohoo!!

There is no way that I am posting a picture of a medium shrimp so one must use their imagination this week. I am now 13 weeks pregnant which means I am in my second trimester!

Update from BabyCenter.com:
"Fingerprints have formed on your baby's tiny fingertips, her veins and organs are clearly visible through her still-thin skin, and her body is starting to catch up with her head — which makes up just a third of her body size now. If you're having a girl, she now has more than 2 million eggs in her ovaries. Your baby is almost 3 inches long (the size of a medium shrimp) and weighs nearly an ounce."

Recent notices: my apatite is growing, I am "showing," and I haven't thrown up all week! YEAH! We had a doctors appointment this week that truly rocked my world!! Mike came with me to the office and we got to hear Baby Wojcik's heartbeat! 160 bpm! It was incredible! I giggled with joy! Mike got the whole thing recorded on his phone. I will never in my life forget the moment I heard the heartbeat of the baby within me. It is truly a testament as to how amazing our heavenly Father is.

The doctor said that the baby is sounding perfect and everything is looking totally normal. I got hassled a bit because I have lost 9 pounds and am borderline anemic. So, I have to munch munch munch on some greeny greens and meat!

Happy Mothers Day!

Mothers Day is one of the few made up holidays that I actually enjoy. I have always loved making glitter cards, pancakes, snipping flowers, and such when I was little to make my mom smile. This past Mothers Day was a bit surreal knowing that next year I will be a real mommy. I was surprised to receive a Mothers Day care package complete with a pregnancy moo-moo (Thanks Mur!) and a Mothers Day card from Aunt Kim. I guess when you think about it, being pregnant sorta counts as being a mom. I mean I have to take care of myself and make wise decisions for the child within me. I guess that is close to having motherly actions.

Anyway, at church our pastor asked us to think of someone who had passed who you really miss... the woman (on Mothers Day) that I thought of was Jean Wojcik, or Babci. This is the first Mothers Day that I did not send her something sweet in the mail. This thought brought tears to my eyes in church. I am HUGELY blessed in the motherhood area. For example,
My own Mur is a rock solid woman of faith who leads by inspiration! (Mur also happens to be the most creative person I have ever known.)
Mikes Mom is a caring and selfless woman who always puts others before her. (She is also our MD of the family.)
My Grandma is a prayer warrior who teaches me how important it is to talk to God. (She is also incredible in the kitchen.)
My Grandmolly taught me manners as soon as I could sit up and finds ways to make anything fun! (I love how she teaches me our family history and traditions.)
My Gram (Mikes Gram) taught me to LOVE appletinies, j/k, she is amazing and finding the little things in life to make you laugh.
And Babci, was my polish grandma, the hostess with the mostess! She loved me before she knew me... and here is her story.

(I tried to make perogies like her... I did not succeed.)

The details leading up to meeting my Babci for the first time were full of quick decisions. I had no time to prepare to meet the woman that I had heard so much about. I wanted my first meeting to go perfectly. I wanted to have a great outfit, and look impressive. I wanted my Babci to like me and be proud of Mike for marrying a woman like me. Instead, I arrived at the home of Babci in clothes that I had been wearing for two days, hair that had not been brushed, and the scent of car on my body. Mike and I drove through the night on a whim to meet up with other family members in the area who were visiting. I hesitated to get out of the car after pulling up to the home. I took my time to be the last one in line to enter the door. What do you say to a grandma that you have never met? “Hi, I am the girl that married your grandson.”
As Tom, Dad, and Mike, entered the house I could hear loud noises. I hid behind Mike still wondering what words would come out of my mouth. The voices calmed and I knew that was my cue to appear. So I peaked around Mikes shoulder and saw Dzadji smiling with that silly smile that fills his whole face. You know, the one that makes his cheeks all puffy. Dzadji’s smile looks like the smile of a kid riding on a fire truck- its pure joy! Dzadji took me up into his arms and held me close and strong into his chest. He laughed in a deep bellow of a laugh. I heard footsteps and knew that it was now time to meet Babci. She was holding on to the wall to guide her footsteps towards me. I looked and saw a hand leading the way for Babci to turn around the corner. Our eyes met, her eyes sparkled, her footsteps quickened towards me, her arms spread around me, as she called out to the world in a sweet and loving voice “You are mine! You are mine!” She repeated those words over and over again. She stepped back to get a good look at me, holding onto my shoulders, our eyes met again, she managed to crack an even larger smile than the one that was spread across her face, her eyes still sparkling. Again she held me close continuing to tell me, “You are mine! You are mine!” It was then that I knew that Babci was special.
Babci took my arm with her frail hands and led me into the next room. She told me she had something she needed to show me. I had not even said a word yet. She brought me into the living room to a table full of photographs. Babci then pointed out all of the letters that I had ever written her through the past two years of engagement and marriage. She saved everything about me. She had every letter displayed as if it were framed art; my pictures were there among the other family photos too. She cherished me even though she did not know me. She loved me without even meeting me. It was then that I knew that my Babci had the heart of gold. She truly knew how to love.
Babci was a woman of great character. She loved deeply and constantly wanted to show her love. She was an amazing cook, hostess, wife, and grandma. I will never forget her and the impression she has left on my heart. I will keep her memory alive by aspiring to be more like her. When I close my eyes and think of her I imagine her dancing around heaven in a beautiful gown, with her brilliant smile, weightless body, swift and dainty feet, bringing joy to all. She doesn’t have to hold the wall anymore. She is free. We love you Babci, you live on in our hearts and actions. And although we could never dance as well as you, we will see you again someday and join in your dance.

May God bless and keep you. Happy Mothers Day.

You put the lime in the coconut and drink it all up!

Papa- the Title is for you. I feel like I can hear your deep voice singing to me.

12 weeks pregnant!
Update from BabyCenter.com:
"The most dramatic development this week: reflexes. Your baby's fingers will soon begin to open and close, his toes will curl, his eye muscles will clench, and his mouth will make sucking movements. In fact, if you prod your abdomen, your baby will squirm in response, although you won't be able to feel it. His intestines, which have grown so fast that they protrude into the umbilical cord, will start to move into his abdominal cavity about now, and his kidneys will begin excreting urine into his bladder. Baby also has a  functioning thyroid gland, pancreas, and gallbladder.
Meanwhile, nerve cells are multiplying rapidly, and in your baby's brain, synapses are forming furiously. His face looks unquestionably human: His eyes have moved from the sides to the front of his head, and his ears are right where they should be. From crown to rump, your baby-to-be is just over 2 inches long (about the size of a lime) and weighs half an ounce."

First of all I would like to congratulate Baby Wojcik for already knowing how to partay! Baby Wojcik is the perfect size for Cinco De Mayo! A lime is perfect for a certain Mexican beer, limes are also perfect for margaritas! Too bad I can not enjoy either.  Who am I kidding? I get to experience Cinco De Mayo with a lime inside of me. Does it get any better?

Baby Wojcik has one up on Daddy! (DADDY! LOL! Mike is going to be a DADDY! Ha ha, I have never seen that in writing! WOW! That is so crazy! EXCITING!) Baby Wojcik has a gallbladder! I thought that I should feature Mike's recent gallbladder surgery in this post. At the end of January Mike had his gallbladder removed. Here are some photos for you to enjoy.
He was such a great trooper!
His surgery was a very painful experience. They had to keep him in recovery for
twice as long due to the pain.
He was so sweet when he was sleeping. It was nerve racking though because he was in so much pain that he would moan and groan and even yelp in his slumber. Poor guy!
We had an amazing nurse that put us in our own room. She even got me a cot to sleep on. Too bad I stayed up til 3am to finish my report card grades and monitor his progress.
By late morning he was ready to take a stroll. The pillow "held his guts in" as Mike puts it.
 Our four star accommodations!
 The hospital was wonderful!
There he is! Same amazing man, minus a gallbladder!

Mike's surgery taught me a lot about nursing and patience. God showed favor on us day after day during that time of healing. I could seriously feel angels in the room with us that night. One of the biggest blessings was having Becky here for his whole mending time. She was an amazing extra set of hands in all this. I cant wait for her to show her amazing skills in November to help with Baby Wojcik.

I totally NEED a Key Lime Pie!

Picture this...

Nice teacher eating lunch with a few students one afternoon.
Suddenly teacher is overwhelmed with the nauseous feeling.
Teacher exclaims "go to the lunchroom, I don't feel well."
Teacher runs to trash can and throws up while students are still in the room.
Teacher calls the office to send for a substitute to pick students up from lunch.
Teacher runs through the halls holding a trash can and hurling while passing other teachers and students.
Teacher makes it to the clinic bathroom and continues to vomit.
6 vomit episodes later the whole school staff knows that she is pregnant.
And, no one even needed to ask.

Am I ever going to be "me" again?
