20 Weeks Pregnant
Update from BabyCenter.com:
Your baby weighs about 10 1/2 ounces now. He's also around 6 1/2 inches long from head to bottom and about 10 inches from head to heel — the length of a banana. (For the first 20 weeks, when a baby's legs are curled up against his torso and hard to measure, measurements are taken from the top of his head to his bottom — the "crown to rump" measurement. After 20 weeks, he's measured from head to toe.)
He's swallowing more these days, which is good practice for his digestive system. He's also producing meconium, a black, sticky by-product of digestion. This gooey substance will accumulate in his bowels, and you'll see it in his first soiled diaper (some babies pass meconium in the womb or during delivery).
Last part of the update--- EW! Sorry...
This week we had a general appointment to check my weight and baby's progress. I have lost more weight but this time the doctors did not seem worried. No one yelled at me at all. I think this is because they had all the photos from his last appointment and his measurements were doing fine then. So, I am doing fine and so is baby! The records showed that he was a "busy baby" indeed and that we had to go back for another ultrasound. The doctor say that this was not unusual and then proceeded to find his heart rate. This was the funny part of the appointment because the little man was kicking so much that it took a bit of work to actually get a consistent heart rate. At first the doctor was laughing, then she was more like "come-on kid!" All this movement makes me wonder if I am going to end up with SUPER BOY- worlds most energetic kid!
I leave for FL on Saturday July 2nd and am excited to see all my family and show them my belly bump!
Until next week...
